All-On-4® Dental Implants
As a leader in implant dentistry, Nobel Biocare™ creates All-on-4, a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. This process works by inserting the screws (dental implants) at strategic points on the upper and/or lower arch. When compared to other implant dentures, All-on-4 uses fewer posts for a secure fit. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4 implant-supported dentures for patients who are looking for a beautifully restored smile minus the hassle or the dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. A lot of our patients appreciate the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4 procedure with results that look amazing and last a long time. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4 implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule an appointment at our dental facility in Hammond, LA.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
If you are missing one tooth or several teeth, the dental professionals at MINT dentistry will likely recommend a crown, bridge, or denture supported by implants to restore your smile. You may be a good candidate for a dental implant or All-on-4 implants if you have one or more traditional restorations but don't like dietary restrictions, maintenance, or general appearance. At your consultation, we will assess your gums and jawbone to decide if you're able to receive an implant. You may not be a good candidate for implants if you are being treated for gum disease, use tobacco, or are currently pregnant.
How Are Dental Implants Placed?
During your implant consultation, our team will ensure you do not require jawbone or gum grafts. If you do, those procedures will be performed before your implant surgery is scheduled. As soon as you are approved for implants, our team will schedule your first appointment to begin the process. At the start of your appointment, your team will show you to the procedure room so you can begin to relax in the massaging treatment chair where you will be given Beats headphones and MINT sunglasses. When you are ready, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, the oral surgeon will make an incision(s) in your gums and fit the metal implant post(s) in your jaw. This process will be repeated until all implants are in place. The gums will then be closed, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. Over the next few months, the post(s) will begin to integrate with your gums and jawbone. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to protect the post(s). As soon as you're healed, our Hammond, LA dentists will attach your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the implant(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.
Dental Implant Surgery Aftercare
After your surgery, you will likely have some swelling in your gums and lower face along with possible discomfort, bleeding, and bruising. A certain degree of these symptoms is completely normal, but if you have concerns or lasting symptoms, please contact us. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics and/or pain medication in addition to detailed aftercare instructions, including dietary recommendations, so your recovery is smooth. As soon as your implant(s) has healed and your crown, bridge, or denture has been connected, you need to follow a good home oral care routine, which includes daily brushing and flossing. You may be asked to schedule follow-up appointments that will allow us a chance to check and adjust your restoration. MINT dentistry encourages you to keep scheduling appointments twice a year for professional cleanings to maintain the health and appearance of your restorations and natural teeth for a lifetime.
The MINT Commitment
Dental insurance policies may differ in coverage, but some of the cost of your implant placement procedure may be eligible to be paid. During your initial consultation with the doctor, we can discuss which payment methods our office accepts, including low-interest medical financing.
